The Ramayana is a compilation of multiple narratives, among which the exile of Rama is one of the most significant events. This incident later becomes the central driving force of the Ramayana story. Kaikeyi’s greed is often blamed for Rama’s fourteen-year exile after he gave up his claim to the throne. However, it was not the action of a single individual; rather, Rama became a victim of internal conflict within the royal family and the politics of the household. It was not merely a sudden accident. Hints of conspiracy surrounding the throne had long existed within the narrative of the Ramayana. Those involved in politics never remained idle; each tried in their own way to seize power. In this political game, Kaikeyi outmaneuvered all the strategies of the opposition single-handedly and ultimately smiled with the victory of a successful player.
