Abstract

Thought the subject matter of Bengali oral literature is ancient, but it is interwoven with modern society. Proverbs are prevalent on various topics in our country about nature, environment, surrounding, animals, resources, production, history, culture, religion, society, family etc. It is very difficult to calculate the numbers of proverbs as it spread from one place to another place by different people. Due to the wide variety of proverbs, we now we can see the use of proverbs in various poems, essays, novels, drama, newspapers, advertisements, lectures and even daily conversations. The proverb are the long experiences of the people in the society, which are expressed briefly, similarly thought the proverbs the nation's knowledge, intelligent, merit, consciousness, education, culture, tradition and the firm belief or faith are expressed. Proverbs are the most powerful medium of oral literature, which is always associated with human beings’ real experience. The form, meaning and use of proverbs are almost everywhere. But the same proverb is also prevalent in multiple forms due to the different region and geographical locations. Currently, all the virtues of the proverbs are being copied in various slogan compositions. Various people in the society also use proverbs to criticize opposition parties and expose personal, social, political and economic conflicts. Due to the nature of the proverb, it has become very popular and attractive to the children of the present generation. Therefore, this article will discuss the literary value of literature and language, values of philosophy and social education, educational values related to health care and environment, psychological and moral educational and current values that are current.
