Abstract

The Bengali nation is not limited to West Bengal alone. Bengali nations live in various parts of India. During the partition, uprooted Bengali Hindus from East Bengal fled to places like Assam, Tripura, West Bengal, etc. However, in North East India, the number of Bengali nations is relatively higher in Assam and Tripura. A total of 19 tribal communities live in Tripura. In Tripura, tribal communities and Bengalis have been living side by side for a long time. As a result of living side by side, both have benefited from each other. Just as the tribal communities have learned the method of growing crops on flat land from the Bengalis, the Bengalis have also learned various types of crafts from the tribals. Each community has its own culture. As a result of the long-term coexistence of Bengalis and tribal communities, a mixed culture has developed, as well as a bond of harmony can be observed. Subimal Roy, one of the most famous storytellers of Tripura, has skill fully highlighted the aspect of harmony between Bengalis and tribals in the story 'Piyari Setu'.
