Abstract

In the second half of the 20th century, Khaled Chowdhury and Tapas Sen emerged as stage and light designers in Bengali theatre. It is when the drama is presented on stage that its true worth is found. Khaled Chowdhury and Tapas Sen showed how to do good work at a low cost through the use of country language in the play 'Raktakarabi'. Under the direction of Shambhu Mitra, Khaled Chowdhury and Tapas Sen staged and lighted the play 'Raktakarabi'. The art of staging and lighting was established in Bengali theater through the theatrical presentation of the play 'Raktakarabi'.
