Abstract

The Bengali equivalent of the English Globalization is the word 'Bishwayan' used in rap. Many also favor the use of the terms globalization or internationalization as alternatives to globalization. In fact, the full bond of the word Globalization is Economic Globalization. In one word, Globalization ie marketization-spread of global capitalism. Marginalization is an important issue in globalization. Marginalization is a complex process by which a group of people is pushed to the bottom of society, either socially, economically, politically, or culturally. In this essay we have tried to discuss the impact of globalization on the lives of these marginalized people in the short stories of the Bengali short story writer Saikat Rakshit. In the context of the discussion, we have selected his stories 'Ankshi', 'Pagha', 'Maraikal', 'Laxman Sahis', 'Pot', 'Utkhater Patabhumi' etc. But Saikat Rakshit no longer wants to write stories, he wants to convey the history of a social revolution in stories. Want to show the change in that society and at the same time want to show that in the era of globalization where the state is taking so many steps for development, a nation is only becoming more marginalized day by day clinging to some ignorance and superstition. It is very painful for the country and the nation, and that pain was heard in this story. In the name of globalization, global capital is creating a new power structure by uniting people, states, societies and nations, but at the same time, the larger population of the world is not only being economically exploited by the power of capital, but with it, social instability, identity crisis, religious extremism are born. Infinite expansion, displacement of local culture. The world we live in today is without roots or foundations. Due to this challenge to the national culture, the question of what is the identity of man, where are his roots, etc. has become a deep spiritual question today. Not getting any shelter, people are taking refuge in religion. Extremist and militant sects of religion are taking advantage of this weakness. As a result, while the world is uniting in terms of markets and economic activities, people are becoming divided socially and culturally. That is why nationalism and national identity movements are gaining strength. What is the self-identity of man, where are his roots, etc. questions are playing a role in people's life today. Saikat Rakshit is one such seasoned storyteller who has been writing stories and novels for more than four decades. Since the seventies, the new journey of Bengali fiction has been one of its passengers. A particular political slogan of the seventies was to surround the city with the village. Who knows how successful it was in politics, but village life occupies a wide space in Bengali fiction. Even after various changes, Saikat Rakshit's writing has not been displaced, it is not a small matter.
