Abstract

Jhumur Pandey was born to progressive and culturally concise family in Katlicherra Tea Estate of Hailakandi district, Assam. She started writing at an early age and her writings have been published in various journals and magazines. Pandey mainly writes about the predicament of tea garden workers and other marginalised communities.

            In this essay we discussed about Jhumur Pandey's Selected two story book ‘Swopnogondher Khonje’ and ‘Sukh Gacher Golpo’. We can see here various lifestyle of people. This paper aims to focus on the Beauty of nature, identity crisis, struggle for existence, folk culture, belief system of some society, inequality, mindset of modern society, relationship between men and women, poverty and other social issues.
