Abstract

The crisis that World War II and the famine of the fifties created in Bengali life not only created a valley of death, but also heralded a far greater economic, social and moral decline. The death of people from starvation, half-starvation is actually the plague of our consciousness. Manik Banerjee shakes us with the roots of Chaitanya. He has expressed the crisis of Bengali life from various angles in his numerous short stories, and also tried to find a way out of the crisis.
