Abstract

Ghost stories occupy a special place in Leela Majumder's literature. However, Leela Majumder's ghost story is a bit different from what we usually mean by ghost story. All the ghosts we meet in Leela Majumdar's stories are friendly ghosts. They do good if they can but never harm anyone. The ghosts in his stories are sometimes narcissistic. They make moral decisions. Sometimes these ghosts are active in suppressing the evil and sometimes they are interested in the observance of virtue.
