Abstract

The largest scar of colonial-free Bengali life is partition. The integral Bengali nation experienced a crisis in its socio-cultural life as a result of the simultaneous joy of independence and the agony of separation. For colonial purposes, the British government used communalism as the foundation for its long-term rule over India. According to the critic, the goal of British policy was to sabotage Indian politics’ growth as well as their unity and coordination. For this reason, the united Bengal was divided in 1905 as part of the Bengal partition plan devised by the British government. The communal idea persisted in the minds of people throughout the country even after the plan was abandoned in the interest of all Bengalis. Muslims view Hindus as their enemies, just as Hindus view Muslims as their enemies. Which had as its outcome the riots of 1946 and the nation’s division in 1947.

Literature, in its purest form, is the cry of the essence of a fragmented public life, regardless of the political science and partition historical context. People in poverty flee to various countries to escape the existential crisis. Writing in this country is done in collaboration with its citizens. The migrated population has been the subject of numerous works of Bengali literature. Great novelists in particular have used a variety of novels to present their ideas. To name a few, there is Shaktipad Rajguru’s Meghe Dhaka Tara (2001), Atin Bandyopadhyay’s Neelkanth Pakhir Khoje (1999), Amiyabhushan Majumdar’s Gad Shrikhand (1957), and Ramesh Chandra Sen’s East to West (1956).

Background information for our conversation The book ‘Ekta Desh Chai’ by Prafulla Roy describes events leading up to the 1946 riots, communal violence between Hindus and Muslims, and Mumbai militancy. Additionally, the novel “Ekta Desh Chai” depicts the horrifying state of religiously motivated partition. The protagonist of the book “Ekta Desh Chai,” Kalimuddin, is perceived as a victim of the dire circumstances surrounding partition. India is the country of his birth. They were also unable to live a normal life In those countries during the colonial era, when Pakistan and Bangladesh were divided. Identity, ration, and voter cards are required if you wish to return to India, the country of your birth. When returning with dust in their eyes to their native India, border soldiers are called Ghushpetiyas, or infiltrators. It is a particular identity, a territory, or a country that Kalimuddin envisions for all refugees.
