Abstract

The article examines the reflection of Mughal-Koch relations in Persian literature, providing a comprehensive analysis of how Persian literary works from the Mughal era portray the political, cultural, military, and economic interactions between the Mughal Empire and the Koch Bihar region. It highlights the intricate dynamics of Mughal-Koch relations, emphasising how contemporary Persian writers recorded and interpreted these interactions. The research delves into the economic role played by these interactions, detailing the trade, tribute, and economic policies that influenced the region's prosperity.  This study contributes to a deeper understanding of regional history and enhances our knowledge of how Persian literature served as a medium for documenting and reflecting on the complex socio-political and economic realities of the Mughal era. By examining these literary portrayals, the article provides a richer and more nuanced perspective on the historical interactions between the Mughal Empire and the Koch Bihar region, revealing the enduring impact of these relations on the cultural, economic, and historical fabric of the region.
