Abstract

Each and every child on the earth is unique and independent in character and approach. They posses some innate wisdom and knowledge. So, if a child gets the opportunity to enhance those inborn Characteristics then the alround development of a child is smooth and possible. For the alround development of a child the society has set certain rights. If a child can enjoy those rights properly then the personality of a child is achieved in a proper way. Perhaps, to enjoy those rights the environment plays an important role in this regard. A healthy environment brings proper development. But it has been observed that in certain situations, the child merely can use his/ her basic rights due to the pressure created by the society. In such situation the child cannot enjoy those rights due to various social issues and barriers which lead to an unhealthy growth of a child both physically and mentally. So, through this article, we can discuss about the child character of some short stories of Rabindranath Tagore and analyse how lack of opportunity brings hindrence in the growth and development of those characters.
