Abstract
Saratchandra Chattopadhyay is one of the best novelists of the 20th century. His works in Bengali literature have created an emotional essence that made him different from other contemporary novelists. The characters of his novels are created with so much compassion that an author can relate to them. As we know society impacts literature, also literary theories tell us the aim of the literature. In this paper, I would like to analyze how psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic perspective was reflected in Sarat Chandra's novels.
