Abstract

Kamalkumar Majumdar's novel ‘Shabrimangal’ travels outside the conventional way of thinking but does not seem to have created any disturbance in the flow of the story. It is foolish to form any idea about the novel by reading the plot of this novel. In particular, he has always emphasized the emotional side of the subject. The religious sense of the tribal people and the idea of ​​God can be said to be the source of the author's novel Bratyjan. Khandit establishes characters like Madhali within the fragmented novel, who have a sense of correctness, ‘the tension of lust and ultimately the search for humanity. The diverse life-views of the characters depicted in the novel and their conflict through Kamalkumar's wonderful variety of forms, rhetoric and language style. The story of the novel revolves around the religious faith of Madhali, a young man of the Nishad tribe, and the love dilemma of a Jhumurwali named Romni. However, along with that came the topic of appearance. Although the story of the novel is fragmented, one thing is clear, the beginning of the story through Madhali and Romni’s memory romance.  Madhalie fell in love with Romni on her first night. In search of God, I can see in the second part of the fragmented part how much Madhali is in love with God. In fact, the subject that Kamalkumar has adopted in the novel can be said to be not only Madhali's search for God but also the journey of a person's psyche. Its origin extends from Kasundihi village to Raivati ​​village i.e. from Romni’s house to Madhli’s house. Throughout the novel, the author has shown a religious agenda, yet above all, human love has returned. In search of God, as his course has changed time and again, various events of the mundane world can be found. Not only God but also the Collector, the constables, their oppression turned the joy of the Christian natives into sorrow. Along with this, incidents like killing Bilati Saran in connection with their land occupation also happened. Although Madhali’s birth was immersed in the sea of ​​sorrow, she was not wandering around in search of God as much as in search of food, but in search of God, she repeatedly saw the face of Shabar Balika in front of her eyes. Although the beginning of the story of Sabarimangal begins with the darshan or search for God, it ends with the human search. Where the Mundas, who could not find food, abandoned the search for miraculous ways and turned themselves into God-fearers. From beggars to ordinary people, they have given up the search for eternal life and realized life by standing on the ground of reality. From this, the criteria of sin and virtue in the company lord, Batadar Mahajan, Brahmin Thakur finally led Madhali to a new understanding of sin and virtue.
