Abstract

Despite the overall commitment to the bloody sentimentality of the war-torn period that lives on; The glorious uniqueness of Bangladesh's liberation war novels lies in the endless variety of creative efforts of dynamic consciousness, which is intermingled with an underlying optimism despite the hundred failures, sacrifices and blood-stained memories. It is for this reason that the evocative novels of Bangladesh's liberation war are marked as an aesthetic document in the genre of Bengali literature. Many enlightened and unenlightened and inevitable aspects of Bangladesh's liberation struggle and post-independence period have been carved in these novels. It can be said that they have created an integral consciousness of the bloody liberation war of Bangladesh, especially the post-war period, society and life course through the piecemeal creation of national consciousness in their novels. Novelists Syed Shamsul Haque (1935-2016), Shahidul Zahir (1953-2008) and Imdadul Haque Milan (b. 1955) who have made the entire consciousness of the Bengali nation artistic in Bengali fiction after the liberation war.

           During the Bangladesh War of Independence, on one hand, Bengalis depicted the collective agony, outcry, and the tormented images of the ravaged times with exceptional artistic skill, while on the other hand, they portrayed the boundless heroism of the freedom fighters, the astonishing courage and unwavering patriotism. Their novels eloquently depict the brutal atrocities and savagery of the Pakistani invaders and their local collaborators upon the innocent Bengalis during the liberation war period, and at the same time, their novels reflect the shattered dreams, intense despair, helplessness, devastation, and destruction in the newly independent Bangladesh, as well as the vivid consciousness of the freedom fighters and the glorious spirit of the liberation war also imply a poignant portrayal of humiliation. There is no doubt that the novels 'Antargata' (1984), 'Jiban o Rajnoitik Bastabata' (1994) and 'Nirapotta Hoi' (1992) have undoubtedly contributed significantly to the stream of Bangla literature with their poignant portrayal of the post-liberation era, blood-soaked times, and the inner and outer turmoil of life, as well as numerous contextual and associative creations.
