Different regions of India have different folk song traditions, expressing the Indian way of life through folk songs If you observe the original pattern of creation, you can understand that if you want to know your culture, it is as easy to know it through music as it is not possible through any other subject.In the rural environment, the happiness, sorrow, joy, feelings of the life of the village people are expressed through folk music or folk literature Likewise, the folk music that is making the air in the villages of West Burdwan, South Birbhum and Medinipur is known as 'Bhadu' music.'Bhadu' is a special phase of the social life of Manbhum In the post-sastra social life, 'Bhadu Devi' is popularized through the folk music of Manbhum. To trace the origin of Bhadu, like any other folk culture or folk festival, one has to resort to conjecture. Because when and where and who started these folk festivals, it is not possible to determine exactly They flow according to the infallible rules of time According to the legend, King Panchkot celebrated this festival to commemorate his only daughter Bhadu Devi The origins of most folk cultures are speculative Due to this, it has not been possible to determine the exact origin of folk festivals since ancient times. Similarly, history and assumptions have to be resorted to in determining the source of Bhadu-puja In tracing the source according to the sequence of events we find that the king of Kashipur in Purulia district had a very beautiful daughter named Bhadreshwari or Bhadravati, Bhadu Puja is said to be practiced to commemorate Bhadravati's untimely death and her memory, there is also another popular story,A battle between the king of Panchet or the king of Chatna takes place in the month of Bhadra and the 'Bhadu'  festival is celebrated as the victory festival of the king of Panchet who won the war. Others have commented that Bhadu Festival is a version of Purulia's Purulia community's Karam Festival Such traditional stories are heard in search of the origin and history of Bhadu Puja.
