Abstract

Children usually have special emotions and sympathy towards animals. Hence, for their love, animals have been used in children's literature from BC to the present.'Shuktara's animal related poems provide children's entertainment as well as moral education, contemporary society, international situation and light humor. How these diverse animal poems became important in the 'Shuktara' newspaper as well as in Bengali children's literature is the main topic of this essay.
