Ancholik Kobita : Ek Anttonirikkhon/ আঞ্চলিক কবিতা : এক আন্তঃনিরীক্ষণ

Abstract

While the vernacular comes up easily in fiction and drama, it is rare in poetry. Different dialects have been recognized in the Bengali language based on the regional variation. Regardless of the significance of these regional dialects in linguistic analysis, the general common name is vernacular. Poetry written in these regional languages is generally recognized as regional poetry or Ancholik kobita. Maybe because of globalization regional poetry is getting a place. Many poets are now consciously trying to write regional poetry in the regional language by mastering the structure of the poetry from the stylistic aspect. In terms of subject matter, regional poetry has become very rich. If we have to draw a line of practice of regional poetry, it can be said that in the middle of the 20th century, in 1951, Bhavatosh Shatpathi's first regional poem 'Gramer Dak' was published. However, some poets used vernacular in their writings before Bhavatosh Shatapathi. In this context, we have to talk about Pallikobi Jasimuddin or Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay. Most vernacular poetry is characterized by a sense of narrative and an attempt to portray an image. Some critics think that postmodernism is an attempt to bridge or match the ancient tradition with the recent era. If judged from this point, then the touch of ancient traditions can be noticed in the regional poems.
