Abstract

Every art-literature-culture represents some class interest. This is as true for the ruler as it is for the oppressed toiling people. When the question of seizure of power arises at one level of struggle or movement, art-literature also has to move beyond that level. Therefore, it is natural that the more people take an active role in the field of movement, the more it will be reflected in literature. Several movements in our country at different times such as Tevaga Movement, Swadeshi Movement all influenced literature. One such movement discussed in the article is the Agricultural Land Protection Movement. The mass movement organized in Singur in Hooghly and Nandigram in East Midnipur, which focused on the protection of agricultural land, which quickly became public, has its influence on Bengali literature.
