Abstract

An important name in the history of Bengali periodical literary paper is Kallol’. On the eve of the second world war, the publication of the Kallol’ literary paper had a great influence on the Bengali literary world. Under the leadership of Dineshranjan Dash and Gokulchandra Nag, Kallol’ Patrika expanded greatly. The proper waving of great literature was carried out through literary anthologies written in Kallol. The ‘Kallol’ clean showed courage to cross the path of Rabindranath Tagore by sheltering him. Kallol’s literature was received by the influence and contact of these who were not so called professional writers. Kazi Nazrul Islam, Sailajananda Mukhopadhyay, Premendra Mitra, Achintyakumar Sengupta and others were the famous writers in this period. The real thing of society was caught in the writings of the Kallol’ group. The theme of this period is the song of conflicted, ambiovalent conflict of thecivil life. Reflections on rural village life led to a resurgence of protestant sprit. Symbolizing poverty, exploitation, deprivation, oppression, neglect is the spiritual wealth of the Kallol group. Skepticism, atheism and negativism are part of this era. Rabindranath Thakur could not warmly welcome ‘Kallol’ s message through his writings. In his words, the eloquence of that criticism has been reaveled many times. The uniqueness and significance of ‘Kallol’ literary paper during the second world war is always remembered in the history of Bengali Literary paper.
