Abstract
In literature, music, and art, Rabindranath cannot be found only through exploration. Rabindranath's distinct identity can be discovered in the realms of education, rural development, cooperative efforts, and similar endeavours. This is highly relevant in today's context. Kali Mohan Ghosh, a close companion in Rabindranath's philanthropic work, played a significant role. Through their concerted efforts and dedication, rural centres like Shantiniketan in the rugged Birbhum district emerged as embodiments of Rabindranath's social ideals. This has attracted global attention both in Rabindranath's contemporary times and in the present day. Among Rabindranath's collaborators, Kali Mohan was particularly noteworthy. On one hand, he was involved in the struggle for independence, and on the other, he embodied the ideals that Rabindranath dedicated himself to — social work and rural development. This research delves into Kali Mohan's life, work, and the relevance of his activities in the context of his time.
