Abstract

Nowadays women are Self Conscious. They are flexible for working both as home makers or earning money from outside. In present days, a writer makes his story with modern women characteristics. In 1970, workers of Durgapur industrial belt published a little magazine named ‘Nim Sahitya’.

Writers of Nim Sahitya were workers. They made their literary base and called it ‘Tikta Birakta Sahitya’. In their literature women are soft hearted as well as strong. They emphasized women’s bodies and sexual life. In their story, the wife and mother cried silently for their husband and son’s death, who were workers. On the other hand, women start working hard for her family. In our patriarchal society, men harassed and used women. But now women are enjoying themselves with men shamelessly. Without any doubt they go out with bad boys with their own concern, they do confidential meetings, join politics also. Nim writers were frustrated with their life. Their literary language is bitter which is similar to nim leef. They called their women, ‘neki half akhrai’ etc. Men cant take any responsibilities about their unwanted babies. But women cant avoid their social responsibilities. Thats why unmarried girls used sindoor to avoid being called on bad names. Even in this modern age, women are helpless without men. This kind of irony we can see in their stories.Nim writers are Rabindra Guha, Mrinal Banik, Biman Chatterjee, Nrisingha Ray. Writers of kabipatra patrika are Shaibal Mitra, Jaydeep Chattopadhaya, Rabishankar Ball, Subimal Mishra. In this essay, I will discuss about feminist urges, women's psychology and the various stages of their life reflected in their literature written by male author according to the little magazine ‘Nim Sahitya’.
