Abstract

Rabindranath Tagore’s philosophical reflections reveal a profound synthesis of spiritual environmentalism, mysticism, and humanism. Tagore does not perceive nature as a mere resource for human exploitation but envisions it as a living, sacred entity intertwined with the human soul. His literary works, including Gitanjali, Sadhana, and The Religion of Man, articulate his belief in a spiritual bond between humans and the natural world, grounded in reverence and coexistence. Tagore's mysticism, rooted in the Upanishadic tradition, explores the inherent unity of nature, man, and the divine, where the universe itself unfolds as a cosmic mystery accessible through introspection and aesthetic experience. Furthermore, his humanism transcends barriers of nationality, religion, and race, advocating for universal compassion and the ethical responsibility of safeguarding nature. In an era marked by ecological degradation and spiritual crisis, Tagore's integrated vision offers an alternative ethical framework that bridges environmental conservation, spiritual fulfillment, and global human solidarity. This research-based study critically examines Tagore’s environmental, mystical, and humanistic ideas and evaluates their contemporary relevance in addressing global ecological and human challenges.
