Abstract
All material things are impermanent. The material world is always evolving, changing, and creating newer things. This gradual development occurs through the process of creation evident in Prakriti o Purusa. This process is responsible for the emergence of motherhood. Motherhood is a concept that gives social recognition of the biological relationship between a man and a woman. The relationship between a man and woman culminates the birth of a mother.
The changing nature of society has also changed the concept of motherhood. With the change of society, the concept of motherhood has also transformed itself. In this paper, I have tried to bring out how this transformation of conventional idea of a mother changed over a period of time and lead to the development of unconventional idea of motherhood. In this study I have tried to look into the fact that how the unconventional idea of motherhood could be accepted by the patriarchal society and through the challenges faced by it. Lastly, I have tried to enquire how the unconventional idea of motherhood would really established itself or its own.
